These are personally my 10 favorite drugstore lipsticks. Drugstore lipsticks are my go to before any high end lipstick because you can quite often find dupes and sometimes even better formulated lipsticks in your local drugstore for half the price of the high end brands.
(this list is in no specific order)
- 800: Fairest Nude
Fairest nude by L'oreal Paris, retailing at $8.95, is a very rich and creamy lip color that is build-able to become an even darker nude. Smooth and even application with a soft finish and is not chalky at all. I like that it has Argan oil in it to keep your lips nice and moisturized!
2. 825: Lovers Coral
Lovers Coral by Revlon, retailing at $6.79, is a pretty sheer coral pink but is build-able to become more pigmented. This color is great for all skin tones but especially olive tones. Also great for everyday wear during the spring/ summer season!
3. 103: Rimmel Lasting Finish
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in shade 103, retailing at $5.39, is a beautiful nude velvety matte lip color that is VERY long lasting. The more product you apply, the deeper and richer the color you will get. This is great for everyday use and lasts me all day without having to reapply to achieve the same results as when I first apply it. The only con is that it could be very drying and give off a chalky look if you do not keep your lips exfoliated or moisturized.
4. 113: Rimmel Lasting Finish
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in shade 113, retailing at $5.39, is another beautiful nude matte lip color. Also very long lasting. I do not like to build up too much of this color on my lips because when I do so it is not very flattering with my skin tone..but if I apply an even amount and then pat my lips with some cloth the color is absolutely gorgeous and looks wonderful. Just like my other Rimmel lasting Finish by Kate Moss in shade 103, this will also give you a chalky look if you do not keep your lips moisturized or exfoliated.
5. 630: Sea Fleur
Sea Fleur by L'oreal Paris, retailing at $8.95, is a popping magenta lip color with a blue-undertone which actually makes your teeth appear whiter! This lipstick is very moisturizing and gives a smooth even application. The more of this color you build up the deeper and richer this berry colored lipstick gets. This is not an everyday lip color but it's great for any fun outting and want a pop to your look.
6. 006: Pink Blush
Pink Blush by Rimmel, retailing at $4.99, reminds me of a pink barbie lip color Nicki Minaj would sport. Very bright and popping. This lip color is build-able and can become a very, very bright crazy pink. I like to apply a lip exfoliator and some lip balm before applying this lip color lightly in an even amount because it DOES give a chalky look and can be drying.
7. 111: Kiss Of Life Rimmel Lasting Finish
Rimmel Lasting Finish in shade Kiss of Life or 111 by Kate Moss, retailing at $4.97, is absolutely one of my favorite red matte lipsticks. Unlike the other Rimmel Lasting Finish lip colors, this one does not dry out my lips at all and lasts throughout the day/night. It almost has a tad of an orange tinge to it in certain lighting but still gives you that snow white red lip pop. DO use with a lip liner!
8. 124: Bordeaux
Bordeaux by Rimmel London, retailing at $4.97, is a beautiful cranberry/dark burgundy. Although I don't usually find myself reaching for this, it is definitely still one of my favorites. This color goes great with any dark smokey eye look and pulls any evening out look together.
9. SML09: Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi by NYX cosmetic, retailing at $6.00, (got it for the ulta 40% off sale), is a creamy matte nude color. I don't own many NYX products and I did not have any NYX lippies before this one but I absolutely love this color and the matte finish so much. Abu Dhabi is a great color for every day wear and is also long lasting. You could wear this color with any makeup look or outfit and never go wrong!
10. MLS32: Siren
Siren by NYX cosmetics, retailing at $5.99, is like a matte dark violet mixed with burgundy. This is a lipstick that is great for the evening. Goes on smooth and is also very pigmented. This color reminds me of Rimmel London's Bordeaux when I first apply it, but, as you apply more and build the color up, they have a totally different outcome. I find that Siren has a more violet tone while Bordeaux turns into a dark burgundy. Before using this lipstick DO apply lip balm and use a lipliner.
